📜 Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how AARA Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Vetri Tamil Calendar Android application ("the App").

Vetri Tamil Calendar is a Tamil Panchangam, spiritual, and devotional app offering Tamil calendar data, daily astrology, Nalla Neram, Jathagam calculations, devotional lyrics, God stories, gold & silver rates, home-screen widgets, push notifications, and optional premium subscription features.

By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

📊 Data We Collect

We collect information in the following categories. Much of this data is collected automatically by third-party SDKs integrated into the App and is subject to those services' own privacy policies (see Third-Party Services).

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email address, or account credentials
• Phone numbers or contact lists
• Photos, camera, or microphone input
• Financial details (payments are handled entirely by Google Play)
• Precise location without your explicit permission

📍 Location Data

Vetri Tamil Calendar may request access to your device's location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) solely to improve the accuracy of the following features:

• Sunrise and sunset times
• Panchangam (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana) calculations
• Rahu Kalam and Yamagandam timings
• Nalla Neram (auspicious time) display

Location data is used only on-device for the calculations described above. It is not transmitted to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with third parties in any identifiable form.

📈 Analytics & Diagnostics

Firebase Analytics (Google LLC)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated data about how users interact with the App — for example, which screens are visited most often and which features are used. This helps us prioritise improvements and new features.

Firebase Analytics may collect: device type, operating system version, app version, country (derived from IP address, not stored), session duration, and in-app events (e.g., "viewed daily Panchangam", "opened lyrics"). IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC)

We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect, record, and report app crashes and non-fatal errors. Crash reports contain: stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Crash reports do not contain your name, email, or any personally identifiable information beyond what is inherent to the device state at the time of the crash.

Crash data is used exclusively to find and fix bugs. It is not used for advertising or shared with third parties outside of Google Firebase's infrastructure.

Firebase Remote Config

Firebase Remote Config allows us to adjust app behaviour (e.g., enable or disable features) without requiring a full app update. No personal data is collected through Remote Config beyond the standard Firebase installation identifier.

📣 Advertising – Google AdMob

Vetri Tamil Calendar displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC) to free-tier users. AdMob may use device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID (AAID), to show interest-based (personalised) ads.

What AdMob may collect

• Android Advertising ID (AAID)
• Device information (model, OS, language, time zone)
• IP address (used to infer approximate location for ad targeting)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

Your advertising choices

• Opt out of personalised ads: Go to your device Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
• Reset your Advertising ID in the same menu.
• Remove ads entirely by upgrading to a Vetri Tamil Calendar premium subscription (see Subscriptions).

💳 In-App Subscriptions & Billing

Vetri Tamil Calendar offers optional premium subscriptions ("Vetri Tamil Calendar Pro") that unlock ad-free usage and additional features. Subscription plans may include monthly, annual, and lifetime options.

Google Play Billing

All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. We do not collect, process, or store payment card details. Your payment information is handled exclusively by Google in accordance with Google Play's terms of service. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

To manage or cancel a subscription: open the Google Play Store app → Menu → Subscriptions → Vetri Tamil Calendar → Cancel.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement verification across devices. RevenueCat receives a purchase receipt from Google Play and an anonymous customer identifier generated by the RevenueCat SDK. RevenueCat does not receive your Google account name, payment card details, or any directly identifying personal information.

The anonymous identifier allows the App to verify your premium status on reinstall or device changes without requiring a separate account.

Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted directly to Google Play. We are not able to process refunds ourselves as all billing is managed by Google.

🔗 Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies.

🤝 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Third-party service providers: As described in this policy, data flows to Google (Firebase, AdMob, Play Billing) and RevenueCat solely to operate the App's features.
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
• Business transfer: If the App is acquired or merged, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users via an in-app notice or updated privacy policy.

Beyond these cases, we do not disclose information about individual users to any third party without explicit consent.

🔒 Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data processed through the App:

• All network communication uses HTTPS / TLS encryption.
• User preferences and bookmarks are stored locally on-device using Android's SharedPreferences and Hive database, which are sandboxed to the App.
• Firebase and RevenueCat services implement their own security controls as described in their respective security documentation.
• We do not store financial data; all payments are handled by Google Play.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

⚖️ Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a description of the data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request deletion of data associated with your device.
• Opt-out of personalised advertising: Via device Settings → Google → Ads.
• Revoke location permission: Via device Settings → Apps → Vetri Tamil Calendar → Permissions.
• Manage analytics: Firebase Analytics collection can be disabled by opting out of Google's data collection in your Google account settings.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale. European / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our lawful basis for processing analytics and crash data is our legitimate interest in maintaining a stable, high-quality application. Advertising processing by Google AdMob is based on your consent (managed through device-level Ad personalisation settings). You have the right to object, restrict processing, or request erasure by contacting us.

👶 Children's Privacy

Vetri Tamil Calendar is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at aara.apps.support@gmail.com and we will promptly take steps to delete such information.

The App's content — Panchangam data, devotional lyrics, and astrological information — is intended for general adult audiences interested in Tamil spiritual and cultural traditions.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in the App's features, applicable law, or third-party service integrations. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Display an in-app notification on the next App launch after the update.

We encourage you to review this policy whenever you update the App. Continued use of the App after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
